The Client

Our client a well-known retail organisation was in the process of commencing an expansion throughout the east end south east of the country.

The Challenge

They were having difficulty identifying and recruiting suitably qualified people at the middle and senior management level. MSS entered into a partnership with this well-known retailer whereby we operated as an extension of the clients brand in the market. . Our brief was to devise a recruitment strategy that was results orientated, rigorous and in line with their time frame over a 12 month period.

The Process

 On commencement of the contract we conducted a recruitment audit and identified that their recruitment process   was not consistent across the organisation. We created recruitment processes   that corrected these inconsistencies and introduced guidelines on best practice in recruitment and selection for all stores. The purpose of the guidelines was to assist our client in implementing effective and fair recruitment and selection processes, which would contribute to their success in appointing the best candidate to each position.

We then set about the main task, attracting new talent at management level into the organisation. Our audit had identified some interesting trends with historical data in terms of the calibre of the candidate applying to the organisation and we used this as a platform moving forward.

The Results

 A recruitment strategy was implemented in line with the demands of the business and a needs analysis identified short comings in succession planning and through a combination of traditional recruitment methods and retained executive search we successfully achieved our target and exceeded our client’s expectations. The recruitment plan in place also allows our client to forecast recruitment costs with accuracy and minimize administration.
