Head of Training and Engagement

This is an exciting time to be joining Dogs Trust Ireland as we embark on the next stage of our journey, in this newly created role for an experienced Head of Training and Engagement. The Head of Training and Engagement will lead on the design, development and provision of a training and engagement strategy, shaping existing resource and knowledge for the provision of Learning and Training programmes and curricula for professionals and public, and ultimately towards the establishment of a Dogs Trust Academy.
This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your experience to take ownership of this space and shape Dogs Trust’s future engagement with multiple audiences. You will get the opportunity to work alongside subject matter experts, and to work with a variety of clients, stakeholders, and partnerships. You will be responsible for horizon scanning in terms of relevant future content and will thus be able to be creative and innovative in the sector.
What you need to succeed
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with extensive adult learning and training expertise/qualification and significant experience in designing effective learning and development approaches. You do not need experience in Dog Training or Behaviour but will have the people skills and experience to collaborate with subject matter experts both internally and externally and to develop and manage teams. You will enjoy driving strategic projects and be excited by the opportunity to build something new with us and to lead the development of our work in this space.
