Employers are required to issue a Statement of Terms of employment within two months of commencing employment. In addition to this an Employee Handbook allows an employer greater flexibility to adapt to changing business conditions.
A well-drafted Statement will set a solid foundation for the employment relationship and ensure an employee is fully aware of what is expected of them in their role, what will be provided in return for their performance and the rules applicable in the workplace.
